What they need
Job Title: Technical Trainer / Training Documentation Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer / Training Documentation Specialist to support the development of formal training materials for business applications and operational processes. This role will work closely with business leadership, to translate application workflows and business processes into clear, structured training documents that can be used for onboarding, knowledge transfer, and end-user education.
The focus is on partnering with the business to understand how applications and processes are used and creating effective training and process documentation. The ideal candidate has a strong background in developing training content, process guides, and business-facing instructional materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop formal training materials for business applications and operational processes.
- Create user-friendly training documents, job aids, process guides, and reference materials.
- Translate business process documentation into effective training content for end users.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather information on workflows, procedures, and application usage.
- Organize and structure training content in a way that supports learning, adoption, and consistency.
- Review existing business process materials and align them with training documentation needs.
- Ensure all training materials are accurate, clear, and easy to follow for a non-technical audience.
- Support documentation standardization across training and business process materials.
- Update and maintain documentation as processes or applications change.
Qualifications
- Proven experience creating training documents, instructional guides, and process documentation.
- Strong ability to learn applications and business workflows and translate them into training materials.
- Experience working with business stakeholders to capture and document processes.
- Excellent written communication and document organization skills.
- Ability to create structured, professional training content with minimal direction.
- Experience developing materials for end-user training, onboarding, or operational support.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to simplify complex processes.
- Background in training, instructional design, business process documentation, or a related field preferred.
Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is someone who can take ownership of training documentation development, working directly with business partners to turn application knowledge and process details into polished, effective training materials. This person will fill a critical gap by creating documentation that has traditionally fallen to IT, ensuring the business has the resources needed to train users effectively.
