Technical Trainer Specialist

About the role

PT Sumberdaya Sewatama is seeking a highly capable professional to join us as a Technical Trainer Specialist, a strategic role responsible for building technical capabilities, accelerating workforce readiness, and developing the next generation of technical talent across our operations. In this role, you will go beyond delivering training programs. You will play a critical role in transforming field expertise into sustainable organizational knowledge, ensuring operational excellence, workforce competency, and long-term business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct technical competency and workforce capability assessments to identify skill gaps and development priorities aligned with business and operational requirements.
• Design and develop a comprehensive Technical Learning Architecture, including structured competency frameworks, learning pathways, and career development programs for operational employees.
• Develop and deliver technical learning solutions through various learning methodologies, including classroom training, coaching & mentoring, on-the-job learning, self-directed learning, job exposure assignments, and other blended learning approaches.
• Partner closely with Performance Management, Site Management, and Subject Matter Experts to strengthen workforce capability and succession readiness.
• Capture and convert field experience and technical know-how into competency standards, training materials, work procedures, and organizational knowledge repositories.
• Evaluate learning effectiveness and continuously improve development programs to support business performance, operational reliability, and technical excellence.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and capability development across the organization.

About you

• Minimum vocational education (Technical Vocational School / SMK) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Bachelor's Degree (D4/S1) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Operator, Technician, or technical practitioner within power generation, energy, utilities, industrial operations, or related sectors.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership experience as a Site Leader, Supervisor, Foreman, Team Leader, or equivalent field leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge in power generation systems, reciprocating engines (diesel and gas engines), mechanical and electrical systems, control & instrumentation systems, technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis, reliability engineering and maintenance management, and operational safety and technical safety standards.
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, and develop technical talent.
• Strong interest in learning & development, workforce capability building, and knowledge management.
• Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness and potential to grow as an Internal Technical Trainer, Learning Specialist, and Technical Capability Development Expert.
