Technical Tutor

James Okorie Technical Institute is seeking a skilled, practical, and passionate TechnicalTutor to join our training team.

We are looking for an experienced technical professional who can teach and demonstrate practical skills to students. The ideal candidate should have real-world industry experience in the technical fields we train.

Areas of Training

The tutor will train students in areas including:

• Solar energy system installation and maintenance
• Renewable energy technologies
• Electrical wiring and maintenance
• CCTV and security systems installation
• Industrial control panels
• Automatic changeover switch installation
• Smart home technology
• Electrical and electronic systems
• Technical maintenance and troubleshooting
• Fault diagnosis and practical repairs

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theoretical and practical training sessions.
• Demonstrate proper installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Guide students through hands-on practical projects.
• Prepare lesson plans, training materials, and practical exercises.
• Assess students' theoretical understanding and practical skills.
• Supervise students during practical sessions and ensure proper safety procedures are followed.
• Demonstrate the correct use of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Help students troubleshoot and solve real-world technical problems.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Keep training equipment and practical work areas properly organized.
• Stay updated with current industry technologies, tools, and practices.
• Encourage students to develop practical skills that can be applied in real-world work environments.

Requirements

• Minimum2–3 years of practical, hands-on industry experience in one or more of our technical training fields.
• Strong practical experience in areas such as:
• Solar installation and maintenance
• Electrical wiring and electrical systems
• CCTV and security systems
• Automatic changeover systems
• Industrial control panels
• Smart home technology
• Electrical/electronic troubleshooting and maintenance
• Ability to demonstrate practical skills and explain technical concepts clearly to students.
• Strong installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with students of different skill levels.
• Previous teaching or training experience is an advantage but is not mandatory.
• Relevant technical qualification, certification, or professional training is an advantage.
