Technical Underwriting, Specialist

Job Purpose:

Provide Underwriting Technical support to Frontend BKK / Service Centre underwriters and Group underwriters in underwriting function and other concerned departments to ensure that they perform Underwriting and related tasks correctly.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on underwriting procedures, rules, regulations both Life and PA to underwriters to support them process tasks and related function
• Underwrite and approve high sum assured cases
• Manage Underwriting audit and QA (both Life / PA) to ensure that all underwriting processes perform according to procedures and rules & regulations
• Review, update and grant Underwriting authority & UI procedure/manual for relevant parties to use as guideline
• Provide underwriting training to new underwriters and concerned parties
• Support for bankruptcy issues
• Provide comments and review cases regarding the FATCA issues
• Prepare brush up UW issue and training
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Medical or related field
• 5 years + of experience in Medical Underwriting or Life & Health Claims etc.
• Keen knowledge of products, policies & procedures as well as system
• Good knowledge of medical underwriting guidelines, procedures and systems
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Smart handling of complaints and enquiries handling skills
• Creativity and conceptual skills
• Good negotiation skills
