Job duration : 12 months Contract on W2 with possible extensions

Pay Rate : $43.50/hour

Position Overview

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer II to create, maintain, and improve manufacturing documentation supporting the assembly and testing of complex products. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to develop clear, accurate work instructions, process documentation, and visual guides that support efficient manufacturing operations.
• The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing environment, can translate complex technical information into user-friendly documentation, and enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, assembly procedures, test procedures, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to capture and document processes for new products, engineering changes, and manufacturing updates.
• Conduct interviews and gather technical information from subject matter experts.
• Translate engineering drawings, schematics, 3D models, and technical specifications into clear written and visual work instructions.
• Audit existing documentation to ensure compliance with engineering, quality, and manufacturing standards.
• Support manufacturing process improvements by updating documentation based on engineering changes and production feedback.
• Maintain document accuracy through version control and change management processes.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to documentation, manufacturing processes, and workflow efficiency.
• Ensure documentation meets company quality standards and customer requirements.
• Support production teams by responding to documentation issues and implementing timely corrections.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, Manufacturing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 0–3 years of experience in technical writing, manufacturing engineering, or a manufacturing environment.
• Experience creating technical documentation, work instructions, SOPs, or manufacturing procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, and 3D models.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or production operations.
• Knowledge of manufacturing methods, quality systems, and safety procedures.
• Experience documenting complex electromechanical or mechanical assembly processes.
• Familiarity with document control and engineering change management processes.
• Experience auditing manufacturing documentation for compliance.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
