Technical Writer

Responsibilities • Able to represent the team on small to moderate projects. • Willingness to continually develop broader knowledge of writing standards. • Work closely with other writers and/or the Editor to verify accuracy and usability of documented information. • Quickly learn and use required authoring and publishing software, including Adobe DreamWeaver, GIT, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Maintain existing documentation and keep it up to date as products and processes change to ensure end users have the information needed to perform required job responsibilities. • Apply working knowledge of the Information Mapping Methodology ©, with support from the Editor and/or more senior writers, when analyzing and developing content to ensure correct content structure. • Discuss methodology with clients in a persuasive manner and engage the Editor and/or more senior writers to ensure clients understand the development approach. • Distinguish between varying information types, such as procedure and system content, to properly organize and write content according to defined department standards. • Take ownership of defined day-to-day tasks, consistently deliver within assigned deadlines, and escalate appropriately when deadlines are in jeopardy. • Actively seek advice from other writers and remain open to feedback from the Editor. • Quickly learn Key’s systems to verify accuracy and usability of documented information. • Gather end-user feedback on usability and findability and share with the team for future improvement opportunities. • Complete Change Requests, ensure SLAs are being met, and assign requests to the appropriate writers as needed. • Partner with Senior and Lead Technical Writers for issue resolution as needed. • Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. • Comply with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
