Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support a major government ICT and intelligence capability project based in Canberra.

This role will play an important part in developing, reviewing and maintaining technical and project documentation, with a strong focus on Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and systems integration documentation.

Working closely with engineering, logistics, project delivery and operational stakeholders, you will translate complex technical information into clear, accurate and practical documentation.

This is a varied opportunity that extends beyond traditional ILS documentation, providing exposure to technical, operational and governance activities across the full project lifecycle.

Key Duties

• Develop, review and maintain Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation and associated technical artefacts.
• Prepare and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and operational documentation.
• Support the development and maintenance of ISER/PED integration documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, logistics, project and operational stakeholders to capture and validate technical information.
• Ensure documentation meets relevant project, engineering, quality management and government requirements.
• Assist in preparing governance papers, technical reports, presentations, project plans and training materials.
• Maintain consistency, accuracy and quality across technical and project documentation.
• Provide documentation support across multiple project workstreams throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Experience Required

• Active NV2 security clearance is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in technical writing, ideally within complex ICT, engineering or government project environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation.
• Strong capability in preparing SOPs, work instructions, technical reports and operational documentation.
• Ability to interpret complex technical information and communicate it clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working collaboratively with engineering, logistics, project delivery and operational stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, document quality and consistency.
• Understanding of documentation standards, governance processes and quality management requirements.
• Ability to manage documentation requirements across multiple workstreams and project deliverables.

Highly Relevant Experience Experience supporting systems integration documentation, intelligence-related ICT capabilities or complex technical projects will be particularly relevant to this opportunity.
