Technical Writer (m/f)

We are looking for a detail-oriented, curious, and communicative individual to create high-quality user documentation for electricity meters, communication devices, and related solutions. Your key responsibility will be developing clear, easy-to-understand, and user-friendly documentation in English that helps users install, configure, and effectively use our products.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing, editing, and maintaining user manuals for electricity meters, communication devices, and related products.
• Collecting information from development documentation, technical specifications, and other sources.
• Collaborating with development teams, product managers, testing teams, and other subject matter experts.
• Transforming complex technical information into clear, understandable, and user-friendly documentation in English.
• Creating and maintaining illustrations, diagrams, tables, and other documentation elements.
• Supporting the transition from Microsoft Word to structured authoring using Oxygen XML Author.
• Contributing to the establishment and further development of an online help centre.
• Working with the Marketing team to create and maintain marketing materials and product documentation.
• Ensuring the quality, consistency, and terminological accuracy of all documentation.

The competencies we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Excellent written English skills and a passion for writing and clear communication.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a systematic approach to work.
• Technical curiosity and a desire to understand complex products and technologies.
• Ability to identify information that is truly important to users and independently gather information from different sources.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with development, technical, and business teams.
• Experience in technical writing or user documentation is considered an advantage.
• Knowledge of structured authoring concepts such as XML, DITA, Markdown, or similar, as well as experience with Oxygen XML Author, is an advantage.
• Experience with online help systems, knowledge of German and/or Italian, and familiarity with electrical engineering, communication technologies, or industrial devices will be considered an advantage.
