Technician Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Technician Assistant to join our team. This position will work in our hospital along side our veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong commitment to providing high-quality service to both pets and their owners. This role involves working closely with animals in a kennel environment, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while maintaining cleanliness and organization within the facility.

Duties

• Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
• Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Cleaning, sweeping, mopping and daily laundry.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
• Assist with animal handling during feeding, grooming, and exercise sessions.
• Support veterinary staff with basic tasks as needed, including animal restraint and care.
• Engage with pet owners in a friendly manner, providing updates on their pets' activities and well-being.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines for animal care.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal handling or kennel environments is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with dog training techniques is a plus.
• Veterinary technician or assistant experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required when handling larger breeds or equipment.
• Knowledge of pet grooming practices is advantageous.
