Technician

Technician (Shift)

 ·          To ensure the duties assigned are carried out in accordance to the rules & regulations and policies and procedures set up.

 ·          To perform emergency duties as per outlined under hotel emergency procedures.

 ·          To ensure that all work requests are properly logged on the maintenance request log and it is updated appropriately at the end of each shift duty.

 ·          To respond to guest requests or complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid inconvenience or discomfort.

 ·          To maintain tools keys, equipment, parts and materials for general repairs in guestroom, public and service areas properly.

 ·          To conduct inspection tour and checking on all the operating systems and plants status according to the check list and lookout for the abnormal working condition and take remedial actions accordingly. To report such abnormality to duty engineer attention.

 ·          To record the inspection and current operating status of all systems and plants.

 ·          To complete detailed shift hand over to the oncoming shift technician both in written and oral manner. The hand over should include all uncompleted and still in progress work, all equipment that breakdown, status of work request backlog, working tools, pagers, walkie talkie, keys, parts and materials, etc.

 ·          To check the lighting (indoor and outdoor) status during evening and midnight. To switch off / on all those equipment according to the required time schedule.

 ·          To attend to and resolve all operating status alarms generated by the BAS system or manually where applicable.

 ·          To maintain a very good working relationship with all associates and needs to be able to listen well with patience and advise the Asst Chief Engineer and Chief Engineer of any problem area. Must promote a cordial and caring attitude and cooperation with all other department.

 ·          To perform all other duties as may be assigned by Chief Engineer, Asst. Chief Engineer and Duty Engineer.

Technician (Building)

 ·          To respond to job assignments in the upkeep and repairs of building facilities which include furniture, wall covering, upholstery, wood works, flooring, paint works & vanishing, masonry, and all decorative fixtures, etc.

 ·          To execute all works assigned by work order and tasked by immediate superior or superior.

 ·          To assist and supervise all works carried out by contractor.

 ·          To make all architectural repairs to the building as per assignments or on own initiative, ensuring all work meets the local codes.

 ·          To conduct inspection to the building as per schedule and advise of conditions, which might affect the operation of the hotel as well as any potential safety hazards.

 ·          To assist in the construction of exhibits and displays as assigned or where applicable.

 ·          To maintain clean work place & storage area.

 ·          To adhere strictly to fire and life safety regulations.

 ·          To perform assigned task under emergency situations.

 ·          To maintain all tools and equipment properly.

 ·          To assist in formulating bill of materials to accomplish tasks.

 ·          To assist in maintaining adequate inventory of general building maintenance.

 ·          To perform all other duties, which may be assigned by the Chief engineer, or any other authorized engineer.

Technician (Maintenance)

 ·          To respond to job assignments in the repairing, installation and preventive maintenance of all building services and kitchen equipment in a productive and cost effective manner to achieve optimum condition.

 ·          To execute all works assigned in accordance with the guideline and polices and procedures, especially in relation to fire and life safety.

 ·          To execute preventive maintenance and repair in accordance with the guideline by engineer and manufacturer's recommendations.

 ·          To maintain all building services and kitchen equipment in safe and good condition.

 ·          To perform emergency duties as per outlined under emergency procedure.

 ·          To familiar with all building services and kitchen equipment on its operating requirement and characteristics, so as to operate in strict compliance with requirement.

 ·          To attend to guest / staff request and complaints promptly and efficiently to avoid inconvenience or discomfort.

 ·          To practice and make recommendations to engineer on energy conservation improvement.

 ·          To perform all other duties as may be assigned by Chief Engineer and immediate superior.

 ·          To assist the other trades where is requested through superior.

 ·          To inspect all building services and kitchen equipment and make operation status records as per inspection list. To correct and report operation deficiency, unusual events and safety hazards conditions to engineer. To feedback and make recommendations to engineer for any needs of system and plants modification, upgrading, methods of operation or repairs, etc that could improve efficiency and productivity.

 ·          To maintain tools and equipment properly and keep the workplace cleans and tidy.
