Job Description – Sugarcane Machinery Service Technician

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and hardworking technician responsible for the servicing, repair, maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of sugarcane agricultural machinery. The candidate will provide technical support to farmers, dealers, and sugar mills and ensure that machines operate efficiently in the field.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Repair & Maintenance

* Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in sugarcane machinery.

* Perform routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and breakdown repairs.

* Inspect and replace damaged or worn-out parts, bearings, chains, sprockets, belts, gears, and other components.

* Troubleshoot hydraulic, gearbox, transmission, and drive-system issues wherever applicable.

2. Field Service & Installation

* Visit farms, dealers, and sugar mills for machine installation, servicing, and repairs.

* Conduct machine demonstrations and assist customers with initial machine setup.

* Attend customer complaints and resolve technical issues promptly.

* Provide on-site support during the sugarcane planting and harvesting seasons.

3. Customer Support & Training

* Explain machine operation, maintenance procedures, and safety precautions to farmers and operators.

* Guide customers on correct machine usage to prevent breakdowns.

* Maintain professional communication with customers and report unresolved issues to the service manager.

4. Tools, Spare Parts & Reporting

* Maintain service tools, spare parts, and repair equipment.

* Identify spare parts required for repairs and coordinate with the stores or service department.

* Maintain records of service visits, repairs, replaced parts, and customer complaints.

* Submit daily service reports and provide feedback on recurring machine problems.

5. Quality & Safety

* Ensure repaired machines are tested and working properly before handover.

* Follow workshop and field safety procedures.

* Report repeated failures and suggest improvements to machine reliability.

Required Qualifications & Skills

* ITI in Fitter, Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or a relevant mechanical trade preferred.

* Practical experience in repairing agricultural machinery, tractors, implements, or industrial equipment preferred.

* Basic knowledge of mechanical assemblies, tools, and machine troubleshooting.

* Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and understand machine components.

* Willingness to travel to customer locations and work in the field when required.

* Responsible, punctual, and capable of working independently.

Employment Details

Important: The technician should be hands-on and practical, capable of opening, inspecting, repairing, assembling, and testing machinery—not just providing instructions or supervising others.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹12,000.00 per month
