Technician (Door Lock)

About the role

Armor Hardware Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Technician (Door Lock) to join our team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to work with high-quality door lock systems and security hardware. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various door lock mechanisms and security systems. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that our customers receive reliable, safe, and secure locking solutions.

Key responsibilities

1. Install door lock systems and security hardware in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, ensuring proper alignment and functionality
2. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on door locks and related security equipment to ensure optimal performance
3. Diagnose and repair faulty door lock mechanisms, identifying issues and implementing effective solutions
4. Test installed door lock systems to verify they meet safety and operational standards
5. Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance work completed
6. Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding proper use and care of door lock systems
7. Collaborate with team members and management to ensure timely project completion and customer satisfaction
8. Stay updated with the latest door lock technologies and security industry best practices
9. Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while on site

What we're looking for

1. Proven experience as a door lock technician or in a similar technical role within the trades and services sector
2. Strong knowledge of various types of door locks, including mechanical, electronic, and smart lock systems
3. Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools commonly used in lock installation and repair
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose technical issues accurately
5. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
6. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and team members
7. Physical capability to lift, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods
8. Valid driving license and reliable transportation for site visits
9. Relevant technical certification or formal training in lock mechanisms or security systems (preferred)
10. Knowledge of building codes and security standards relevant to door locks and access control (preferred)
