Technician (Electrical)

About the role

This role will support repair, overhaul, and refurbishment activities for compressor and rotating equipment components. The selected incumbent will specialize in electrical troubleshooting, repair, testing, and commissioning of compressor systems, control panels, and related equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of industrial air compressors and rotating equipment during overhaul and refurbishment activities.
• Carry out electrical wiring, panel modifications, and component replacement works in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
• Support the assembly, refurbishment, and testing of electrical control panels and associated equipment.
• Conduct electrical inspections, continuity checks, and functional tests to verify equipment performance and quality standards.
• Diagnose and rectify faults in motors, control panels, relays, contactors, and inverter drives (VFDs).
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to support repair and modification activities.
• Assist in equipment modification projects to improve operational performance and reliability.
• Maintain proper documentation of repair, testing, and overhaul activities.
• Adhere to company safety policies, quality standards, and procedures.

About you

• NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical maintenance, equipment servicing, or field service work.
• Hands-on experience in electrical troubleshooting, wiring, and control panel maintenance.
• Familiarity with distribution boards (DBs), motors, contactors, relays, and inverter drives (VFDs).
• Experience with air compressors, rotating equipment, or industrial machinery is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs and industrial automation systems is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance activities.
