Technician - Express Lube

The Express Technician completes routine maintenance and assigned inspections safely and

consistently, documenting findings and referring work outside express scope to the service team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance assigned to the express lane, such as oil and filter service, tire rotation,

fluid service, and other approved maintenance.

• Follow the correct vehicle specifications and dealership procedures for oil type, capacities, filters, tire

pressures, fluid levels, and service reminders.

• Complete the assigned multipoint inspection and document clear, accurate condition notes,

measurements, and photos or video when required.

• Report safety concerns and recommended repairs to the service advisor promptly; do not diagnose

beyond training or perform work without authorization.

• Confirm the repair order and requested services before starting, and notify the advisor if the vehicle

needs work outside express capability or expected time.

• Use lift points, jack stands, wheel equipment, tools, and PPE correctly; follow shop safety and

environmental procedures, including fluid and waste handling.

• Before release, verify fluid levels and caps, check for leaks, confirm wheel fasteners are tightened to

specification when wheels are removed, and reset maintenance reminders as required.

• Keep the vehicle clean and protected, return keys and inspection results through the established process,

and communicate completion or delays to the advisor.

• Maintain a clean, organized bay; care for shared tools and equipment; report damaged tools, spills, or

unsafe conditions immediately.

• Complete assigned training and ask a lead technician or advisor for guidance when a concern is unclear

or outside express scope.
