Who are we?

Longshot Space Technologies is at the cutting edge of low-cost space access and hypersonics. We are developing a novel space launch system that accelerates mass over a long distance. Position Overview

We are seeking motivated students to join us for Test & Manufacturing Technician. As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees who will help you apply your knowledge and grow your skills on projects that have a significant impact. Internships are based at our Alameda, CA site and support manufacturing operations across our Design, Test, Electrical, Software, and Mechanical engineering teams, giving you exposure to how hardware moves from concept to build.

Job Details

• Part-time Internship, Non-Exempt
• Length of Internship: 9 weeks
• Compensation: $20-25/hour Location: Alameda, CA

Preferred Experience & Qualifications

• Enrolled in a manufacturing, machining, welding, electronics, mechatronics, or related technical/vocational program, or pursuing a degree in engineering, physics, math, or a related discipline.
• 3+ months of hands-on experience with fabrication, assembly, machining, or hardware builds (coursework, internships, personal projects, or team projects are applicable).
• Comfortable reading technical drawings, blueprints, or assembly instructions.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and/or basic machine shop equipment is a plus.
• Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, engineers, and managers. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic professional setting with changing needs and requirements.

At-Will Employment

Employment with Longshot is at-will. This means that either the employee or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.

The pay range for this role is:
20 - 25 USD per hour(Alameda, California)
