Technician (Mechanical)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Technician (Mechanical) to join Energizer Singapore Pte Ltd in our Tuas West Region facility. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in mechanical engineering within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our mechanical systems and equipment, contributing directly to our production excellence and operational reliability.

What you'll be doing

• Performing routine maintenance and inspection of mechanical equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
• Troubleshooting mechanical faults and implementing timely repairs to minimise downtime
• Operating and monitoring mechanical systems, recording data and identifying any anomalies or areas for improvement
• Assisting with the installation, commissioning and decommissioning of mechanical equipment
• Conducting preventative maintenance programmes and maintaining detailed maintenance logs and documentation
• Collaborating with the engineering team to identify mechanical improvements and optimisation opportunities
• Adhering to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the workplace
• Supporting the training and mentoring of junior technicians as required

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline, such as an NTC (National Trade Certificate) or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Proven experience as a mechanical technician or in a similar hands-on mechanical role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery operation and maintenance procedures
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and mechanical testing equipment
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
• A solid understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements within an industrial environment
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
• The ability to work collaboratively within a team whilst taking initiative independently
• Preferably, experience with preventative maintenance planning and predictive maintenance techniques
• Basic computer literacy and experience with maintenance management systems would be advantageous
