Technician - Ophthalmic Practice

In this position, you'll support physicians by obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary diagnostic testing, assisting during exams, and ensuring that patient information is accurately documented. Location: Eyecare Associates of South Tulsa, Tulsa, OK

Essential Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for eye examinations by communicating the features and benefits of our preliminary testing procedures.
• Perform all preliminary and any doctor requested tests on all patients.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by the office manager or team lead, and doctor(s).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS (per ADA Guidelines)

• Physical Activity: Standing for sustained periods of time, Stooping, Grasping, Lifting, Talking, Hearing.
• Physical requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
