Technician-Polysomnography II

Overview Job Summary

Performs basic polysomnographic testing and associated interventions under the direct supervision of the clinical director or medical director. May verify insurance, enters patient admission information into the HBO system. May provide supervision of other staff. Subject to overtime and callback as required. Reports to the Director of the Sleep Center. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes and integrates patient information in order to identify and meet the patient-specific needs and to determine final testing parameter/procedures in conjunction with the ordering physician or clinical director and laboratory protocols.
• Oversees and performs difficult and unusual procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Follows procedural protocols.
• Demonstrates the ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy.
• Completes assigned goals.

Minimum Education Minimum Experience Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Respiratory Therapist or Registry Eligible in Sleep and must challenge the BRPT Exam of hire/transfer to be eligible to remain in the PSG II job classification. If the candidate has previous sleep experience and is eligible to take the exam upon hire, he/she must challenge the next available exam date and and pass the exam to remain a PSG II Technician.

Minimum Special Skills Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Basic computer literacy skills.

Minimum Licensure, Registration, Certification ACLS;BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE
