Technician / Programmer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Smart Home Technician / Programmer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, programming, and troubleshooting smart home systems for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with home automation platforms and enjoys solving technical challenges on-site and behind the scenes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, wire, and configure smart home hardware including lighting, AV, security, and automation devices
• Program and commission systems on Control4, Lutron, Moorgen, and Tuya platforms
• Design and implement user interfaces and automation scenes/scripts based on client requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions, both remotely and on-site
• Conduct system testing, calibration, and final handover to clients
• Provide after-sales technical support and maintenance
• Liaise with project managers, electricians, and other contractors to ensure smooth project execution
• Document system configurations and prepare technical reports
• Stay updated on new features, firmware updates, and best practices across supported platforms

About you

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, IT, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
• Prior experience with Control4, Lutron, Moorgen, or Tuya systems is highly preferred
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routers, switches, VLANs)
• Basic knowledge of AV systems, lighting control, and home automation wiring
• Programming/scripting experience is an advantage
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects/site visits
• Valid driver's license (own transport preferred, for site visits)
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
