Technician (Project, Service & Maintenance)

Position Overview

Canatec Malaysia Sdn Bhd (1695979-T) is seeking multiple hands-on Project and Service Technicians to support the project, maintenance and operation of mission-critical cooling systems at customer data centre facilities in Johor and Negeri Sembilan.

The Technicians will work closely with Project and Service Engineers to perform testing, preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting assistance, emergency response, and site support activities. The role requires a strong safety mindset, technical aptitude, and commitment to delivering high-quality service that meets customer SLAs and operational requirements.

The Technician will support the maintenance of:

• Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) Units
• Computer Room Air Handling (CRAH) Units
• Fan Wall Units (FWU)
• Associated Mechanical & Electrical Components

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Engineers in project, maintenance and servicing of CRAC, CRAH, and Fan Wall Unit (FWU) systems.
• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
• Carry out equipment inspections, basic troubleshooting, cleaning, and replacement of components.
• Record equipment readings and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Support commissioning, testing, site inspections, and project activities.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with customer and company procedures.
• Participate in standby and emergency call-out support when required.

Requirements:

• Certificate, Diploma, or Technical Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
• Min 2 years of experience in HVAC, facilities maintenance, cooling systems, or a similar technical field.
• Experience in data centres, critical facilities, or commercial HVAC systems is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and cooling equipment.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong teamwork skills.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within Malaysia.
• Candidates with more relevant technical experience may be considered for the Senior Technician position.
