Technician (Wiring Assembly)

About the role

Estek Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Technician (Wiring Assembly) to join our manufacturing team in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our assembly and process operations. As a Wiring Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for precise and meticulous wiring work that directly impacts the quality and functionality of our products. This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of manufacturing excellence and ensuring timely delivery of components to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Assembling wiring harnesses and cable assemblies according to technical drawings and specifications
• Performing soldering and crimping operations with precision and accuracy
• Testing assembled wiring components to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements
• Troubleshooting wiring defects and identifying solutions to prevent recurring issues
• Maintaining a clean and organised workstation and properly storing materials and tools
• Following all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
• Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines
• Documenting work completed and reporting any quality or production concerns
• Operating hand tools and soldering equipment with competence and care
• Adhering to company policies and procedures, including quality management systems

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in wiring assembly, cable assembly or similar manufacturing assembly roles
• Proficiency with soldering techniques and crimping tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and assembly instructions accurately
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform precision work consistently
• Manual dexterity and steady hands for detailed assembly work
• Knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures
• Familiarity with quality standards and inspection procedures in manufacturing environments
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliability and a strong work ethic with a commitment to meeting production schedules
• A relevant technical qualification or diploma in electronics, electrical engineering or manufacturing is advantageous
• Certification in soldering techniques such as IPC J-STD-001 is desirable
