Technician/Welder

-Cut, shape, and weld metal parts using MIG, TIG, Stick, or Arc welding
-Fabricate machine parts, frames, brackets, tanks, and conveyors
-Repair cracks, broken parts, and worn-out components on machines
-Machinery Technician, Maintenance Welder, Fabrication Technician, Mechanical Welder, Industrial Welder-Technician

Key Skills Needed

Technical: Ability to read schematics, use calipers/micrometers, understand machine manuals

Welding: Certifications in SMAW, GMAW, FCAW are a plus. Knowledge of different metals: carbon steel, stainless, aluminum

Mechanical: Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gears, and motors

In short: A Technician/Welder in machinery is the person who keeps the machines running. They build parts, weld repairs, and fix mechanical problems so production doesn’t stop.
