Technologist, Contamination Control

We are looking for an experienced contamination control professional to lead cleanroom and contamination prevention initiatives across manufacturing operations. You will combine deep technical knowledge, critical thinking, and data-driven decision making to improve cleanliness, yield, reliability, and customer satisfaction while working closely with cross-functional and international teams

Key Responsibilities

• Lead contamination prevention initiatives to improve product cleanliness, manufacturing yield, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
• Own and continuously improve cleanroom and contamination control principles, engineering standards, specifications, monitoring programs, and best practices across products, processes, equipment, and manufacturing environments.
• Drive Real-Time Particle Monitoring and environmental monitoring performance by reducing false alarms, minimizing contamination events, and advancing predictive monitoring through particle sensors, airflow monitoring, and data analytics.
• Lead complex technical investigations involving yield loss, customer complaints, reliability failures, and manufacturing excursions using 8D, root cause analysis, FMEA, DOE, SPC, fishbone analysis, and statistical methods.
• Apply critical thinking and sound decision making to identify contamination sources, evaluate risk, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions that prevent recurrence.
• Optimize cleanroom performance through airflow engineering, environmental control, contamination reduction, filtration, cleaning processes, and advanced monitoring technologies.
• Analyze contamination trends and manufacturing data, translate findings into clear technical recommendations, and develop roadmaps aligned with business and technology priorities.
• Evaluate, qualify, and deploy new contamination control technologies, automation, analytical solutions, and process improvements.
• Work as a strong team contributor with engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers, and global stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Prepare clear technical reports, business cases, and presentations in English, and coach engineers and technicians through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Master's or doctoral degree is an advantage.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in contamination control, cleanroom engineering, semiconductor, HDD, electronics, precision electronics, or a comparable high-precision manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading complex technical investigations and contamination improvement projects.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of cleanroom principles, contamination control, cleanliness verification, environmental monitoring, and cleanroom standards.
• Practical experience with structured problem-solving and analysis tools including 8D, RCA, FMEA, DOE, SPC, fishbone analysis, Minitab or equivalent statistical software, and statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of failure analysis, reliability engineering, risk assessment, process control, yield improvement, filtration, airflow, and particle monitoring.
• Ability to interpret complex data, distinguish root causes from symptoms, assess technical risk, and make timely evidence-based decisions.

Communication and Collaboration

• Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to global and cross-functional audiences.
• Strong teamwork, stakeholder management, and influencing skills across engineering, quality, manufacturing, suppliers, and management.
• Confident presentation and technical reporting skills.
• High ownership, accountability, learning agility, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
