Technologist, Innovation center (Paint & Coating Application)

Job Summary

The Technologist, Innovation Center plays an important role in supporting application development and customer-facing technical activities within the Specialty & Chemical Industry. This position provides hands-on exposure to real customer projects, laboratory-based application testing, and technical collaboration with sales teams, contributing directly to solution delivery and customer satisfaction across specialty, industrial, and performance material segments.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Technical Support

• Support application testing and laboratory activities for specialty and performance chemical solutions.
• Prepare and manage chemical samples, formulations, and test setups aligned with project requirements.
• Assist in basic formulation adjustments and application trials under guidance from senior technical staff.
• Support troubleshooting activities by generating test data and technical observations.

Customer & Commercial Support

• Support sales teams in responding to customer technical inquiries and application testing requests.
• Prepare samples, test results, and technical materials for customer discussions and demonstrations.

Innovation Center Operations

• Support daily laboratory operations including equipment readiness, material availability, and workspace organization.
• Maintain chemical sample inventory, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and efficient usage.
• Assist in maintaining laboratory standards related to safety, quality, and compliance.

Documentation, Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain and update technical documentation, test records, and project reports.
• Update digital systems including Salesforce, SharePoint, formulation databases, and related tools.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in laboratory workflows and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Strong interest in specialty chemicals, industrial applications, or technical support roles.
• Ability to work hands-on in a laboratory and application environment.
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Exposure to customer-facing technical support or application projects is an advantage.
• Experience or strong interest in sample management, testing, or formulation work.
• Strong service mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams.
• Proactive, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.
• Comfortable working with MS Office, digital documentation tools, and CRM systems.
