Technologist - Radiology

Job Summary Operates radiology equipment and performs diagnostic procedures to assist in disease diagnosis and treatment, following established standards and physician prescriptions.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods as directed by a licensed physician.
• Exercises judgment in selecting settings for each patient.
• Develops and implements procedures and treatment plans in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Completes documentation to ensure compliance with policies.
• Maintains equipment and work areas in a safe, clean condition.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and collects quality data.
• Achieves assigned goals and performs additional duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum experience through completion of an accredited Radiology Technology Program.
• Educational requirements include completion of an ARRT-approved radiography program and current ARRT(R) registration or recent graduate awaiting certification.
• Preferred: an associate degree in a related field.
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of radiologic principles, techniques, and positioning.
• Ability to follow instructions, plan, and organize work effectively.
• Licensure includes ARRT(R) registration, BLS certification within 14 days, and applicable state licensing.
