About Davis Ogilvie

Davis Ogilvie is one of the South Island's leading engineering, surveying, planning and environmental consultancies, with offices across Canterbury, the West Coast, Nelson and Central Otago. We take pride in delivering practical solutions for our clients while continually improving how we work through technology and innovation.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Technology & AI Coordinator to help drive improvements in our digital systems, support our people, and maximise the value we get from our technology investments.

About the Role

This is a newly created role that combines hands-on technology support with systems improvement, software management, and AI innovation.

Working closely with our Practice Manager, leadership team, external IT provider, and internal technology champions, you will become the key link between our people and the technology systems that support our business.

You'll enjoy a varied role that includes helping staff with day-to-day technology issues, coordinating software and licensing requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting the adoption of emerging AI and digital tools.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Support & Coordination

  • Act as the first point of contact for day-to-day technology support enquiries.
  • Assist staff with computer, software, and technology-related issues.
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of staff technology requirements.
  • Escalate and manage support requests with our external IT provider.
  • Assist with hardware procurement, setup and asset management.

Software & Vendor Management

  • Manage software platforms, subscriptions and licensing.
  • Liaise with software vendors and support providers.
  • Monitor software utilisation and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist with implementation and rollout of new systems and applications.

Systems Improvement

  • Work with staff to identify technology challenges and inefficiencies.
  • Gather feedback and recommend improvements to business processes and systems.
  • Coordinate technology improvement initiatives with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Help maintain system documentation, procedures and best-practice guides.

AI & Innovation

  • Work alongside our internal AI and Technology Champions.
  • Research and evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies.
  • Support adoption of practical AI solutions across the business.
  • Assist with development of AI guidance, training resources and company best practices.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve productivity through automation and digital tools.

About You

You don't necessarily need to be a technical specialist, but you will be passionate about technology and enjoy helping others make the most of it.

Ideally you'll have:

  • Experience in an IT support, systems administration, technology coordination or similar role.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A natural curiosity for technology, AI and digital innovation.
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 applications and cloud-based systems.
  • The ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve effectively.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.

Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, SharePoint, Copilot, Power Platform, licensing management, or AI tools would be highly regarded.

Why Join Us?

  • Flexible part-time role with negotiable hours (15-25 hours per week).
  • Opportunity to shape a newly created position.
  • Work with a team that embraces innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Be at the forefront of AI and technology adoption within a professional services business.
  • Supportive and collaborative workplace culture.
  • Competitive remuneration based on experience.
