Technology Development Lead(Mobile Engineering Manager)

We are searching for an experienced Technology Development Lead(Mobile Engineering Manager) at our Grayston Drive Sandton facility.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities Job Purpose: Responsible for the programming and development of Blu Label Groups applications and supporting software. Provides advisory support through refining designs, practices, tools and processes to ensure the delivery of quality products to internal and external customers.

Fully accountable for software quality and technical excellence.

Coaching and mentoring developers, and fully accountable for defining and driving maturity of practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities Development Lifecycle

• Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, event-driven transaction processing applications and database solutions.
• Provide effort estimates for projects, sprints, and development activities.
• Develop high-quality software in line with company standards, including testing, code reviews, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to troubleshoot issues, enhance products, and implement improvements.
• Resolve complex technical challenges, reduce technical debt, and ensure software security, compliance, and reliability.
• Lead technical design, architecture, coding standards, and software release processes.
• Drive automation, development efficiencies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and constructive feedback to development teams.
• Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, business requirements, and future technology roadmaps.
• Oversee escalated technical support requests and ensure timely resolution within SLA requirements.
• Analyse business and technical requirements, recommend best-fit solutions, and determine resource and delivery estimates.
• Support knowledge sharing, collaboration, innovation, and capability development across teams and the organisations

Education & Experience

• Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science or equivalent prior learning
• Minimum of 10+ years' progressive experience as a Senior Software Developer
• Expert-level Coding Skills
• Expert experience using Java and SpringBoot
• Expert experience with implementing API’s and microservices using REST, SOAP and GraphQL
• Experience in a CI/CD environment specifically through Azure DevOps
• Experience with Database development on SQL and NoSQL Databases
• Experience with Messaging Queues and Kafka
• Experience with cloud implementations on Azure and AWS
• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker and infrastructure as code using YAML managed deployments Experience with test driven development
• Experience using JavaScript, TypeScript ReactJS and React Native advantageous
• Experience working in Enterprise Agile environments
• Deep experience in system design expertise and system architecture
• Experience with Domain Driven Design and experience in applying DDD to microservices
• Experience in building scalable systems that require high throughput of traffic
