Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technology Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will play a crucial role in our project acquisition process by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and bid proposals for large and /or complex technology projects per client requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate with our pre-construction team to ensure the successful acquisition of projects and their smooth transition to the execution phases.

Responsibilities:

• Project Analysis and Bid Preparation:
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct on-site visits and assessments to gather information necessary for accurate cost estimation.
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to develop comprehensive project estimates.
  • Prepare detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and project assumptions.
• Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
  • Utilize cost estimating software and databases to calculate material quantities, labor hours, and other project expenses.
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to optimize project budgets.
  • Work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
  • Evaluate project risks and uncertainties that may impact cost estimates, such as market fluctuations and regulatory changes.
  • Develop contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to address potential challenges and ensure project profitability.
  • Provide input on contract terms and conditions to minimize financial exposure and protect company interests.
• Client Interaction and Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements and address inquiries.
  • Present cost estimates and proposals in a clear, professional manner, highlighting value-added services and competitive pricing.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and industry partners to support business development efforts.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and correspondence for future reference and audit purposes.
  • Track and analyze project costs, variances, and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports and presentations summarizing cost estimation activities, trends, and key insights.
• Project execution support:
  • Thorough and accurate project handoff to the execution team
  • Provided support throughout the project life cycle to the execution team

Qualifications:

• Five years of Technology experience or two years estimating in the technology industry
• Knowledge of Fire Alarm, Data Cabling, CCTV, Intrusion, Security, and Access
• Accubid experience preferred
