We are seeking an ambitious and technically minded Technology Innovation Manager who is ready to progress from a Senior Engineer, Product Development Engineer, Electronics Engineer, or similar role into a leadership position.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves solving technical challenges, exploring new technologies, and turning innovative ideas into commercial products. You do not need years of management experience. We are looking for the right attitude, strong technical capability, natural leadership potential, and a genuine desire to make a difference.

As a market-leading manufacturer of electrofusion welding equipment, this role will play a key part in shaping the future of our products, technologies, and customer solutions.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the COO, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering new technologies, products, and innovations that support the continued growth of the business.

You will work closely with engineering, operations, sales, and customers to transform ideas into commercially successful solutions.

This is a hands-on role that combines product development, electronics, software, innovation, project leadership and offer technical support to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new products, technologies, and customer solutions.
• Research emerging technologies, market trends, and industry developments.
• Manage product innovation projects from concept through to launch.
• Work closely with customers to understand technical challenges and opportunities.
• Support the development of embedded electronics, software, and connected technologies.
• Coordinate internal and external development resources.
• Develop business cases and proposals for new technology investments.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure successful product introduction.
• Drive continuous improvement of existing products and systems.
• Support the protection of intellectual property and innovation initiatives.
• Develop and manage SOP’s for manufacturing.
• Represent Advance Welding at customer meetings, exhibitions, and industry events.

Essential Requirements

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Electronics, Software Engineering, Product Design, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing products, systems, or technical solutions.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding customer requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive attitude and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• A desire to lead innovation and influence business strategy.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with electronics design and embedded systems.
• Software development experience.
• Knowledge of IoT, data acquisition, cloud-connected products, or industrial automation.
• Project management experience.
• Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Knowledge of product compliance, testing, and certification processes.
