Technology Lead / Engineering Manager – Node.js, Full Stack & Cloud

About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Technology Lead / Manager to drive the architecture, development and delivery of scalable, cloud-native platforms and enterprise portals. You will lead a team of engineers, own end-to-end technical solutions, and bring AI capabilities into our products. This role combines deep technical expertise in Node.js, full-stack development and microservices with strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Design and own the architecture of scalable, high-availability web portals and platforms serving large user bases.
• Define microservices architecture, API strategy (REST/GraphQL), and service boundaries using domain-driven design.
• Lead solutioning for new initiatives: requirement analysis, technical design, effort estimation and technology selection.
• Drive cloud-native design on AWS / Azure / GCP, including containerization, serverless, and cost optimization.
• Establish coding standards, design patterns, code review practices and engineering best practices.

AI & Innovation

• Identify and implement AI/ML and Generative AI use cases (LLM integration, RAG, chatbots, intelligent automation, recommendations).
• Integrate AI services and APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, etc.) into production systems with attention to security, cost and reliability.

Delivery & Engineering Excellence

• Own end-to-end delivery from design through deployment, ensuring quality, performance and on-time releases.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• Ensure application security, performance tuning, observability (logging, monitoring, alerting) and production stability.
• Manage technical debt and drive continuous improvement in system scalability and reliability.

People & Stakeholder Management

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of [8–20] engineers across frontend, backend and DevOps.
• Handle hiring, performance reviews, career development and team capability building.
• Work with Product, Business, QA and Client stakeholders to translate business needs into technical roadmaps.
• Run Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning and delivery tracking.
• Present technical solutions and proposals to leadership and clients (pre-sales support where applicable).

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3–4 years in a technical leadership or team management role.
• Strong expertise in  Node.js  (Express, NestJS or Fastify) and  JavaScript/TypeScript .
• Solid frontend experience with  React.js / Angular / Next.js .
• Proven experience designing and building  microservices  and  event-driven architectures  (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS).
• Hands-on experience with  cloud platforms  (AWS / Azure / GCP) and cloud-native services.
• Strong knowledge of  Docker, Kubernetes , and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
• Database expertise in both  SQL  (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and  NoSQL  (MongoDB, Redis, DynamoDB).
• Experience building  high-traffic, scalable portals , including caching, load balancing, CDN and performance optimization.
• Practical exposure to  AI/ML or Generative AI  integration in real-world applications.
• Strong understanding of system design, API security (OAuth2, JWT), OWASP practices, and scalability patterns.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have

• Cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect).
• Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate) and LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Knowledge of Python for AI/ML workloads.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, New Relic).
• Background in pre-sales, RFP responses, or client-facing solution architecture.
• Domain experience in [e-commerce / fintech / healthcare / SaaS / enterprise portals].

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science or a related field.
