Technology Lead, Software Engineering

Location: 100% Remote (Eastern or Central time zones preferred)

Compensation: $135,000–$160,000 base + 15% annual bonus

We’re seeking six hands-on Software Engineering Leads/Managers to lead small engineering teams while remaining actively involved in software development. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical leader who enjoys coding, building modern cloud-native applications, leveraging generative AI, and collaborating directly with business and product stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–5 software engineers while maintaining a strong hands-on coding presence.
• Drive full-stack development using Java, Spring Boot, React, and relational databases.
• Design and deliver secure, scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Modernize legacy applications and improve software delivery through CI/CD, automation, and generative AI tools.
• Partner with product, design, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop proofs of concept, and demonstrate solutions.
• Support product discovery, roadmap planning, backlog prioritization, and delivery estimation.
• Champion code quality, accessibility, continuous improvement, and data-driven engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of technology leadership experience, including leading distributed teams.
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on React or modern front-end development experience.
• Strong experience with Spring Boot and MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
• Experience designing APIs, modernizing legacy architectures, and developing cloud-native applications.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, CI/CD, and secure, scalable enterprise software.
• Familiarity with generative AI technologies, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and vector databases.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and product-focused delivery models.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to gather requirements, explain technical concepts, and present solutions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock.
• Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, AI coding assistants, or similar generative AI tools.
• Experience with globally distributed teams and modern cloud platforms.
