Technology M&A Strategy and Discovery Lead (Associate, Contract)

Intelance is an enterprise architecture and technology advisory firm. We support organisations through acquisitions, divestments and separations. We are building our associate panel of senior people who can turn an unclear transaction requirement into a practical technology plan. This panel role does not guarantee an immediate assignment. Each engagement will be agreed separately through a statement of work.

Shape the technology approach before full delivery begins.

• Lead focused discovery across the business and technology estate.

• Support technology due diligence and identify the issues that could affect the transaction.

• Clarify scope, outcomes, assumptions, risks and decisions.

• Assess integration, separation and transitional service options.

• Turn findings into a clear roadmap, delivery model and mobilisation plan.

• Define the workstreams, skills, effort and governance needed for delivery.

• Facilitate practical sessions with business and technology leaders.

• Prepare clear recommendations, decision papers and senior presentations.

• Hand the agreed plan to the integration lead and delivery team.

We are looking for someone who can show:

• Recent leadership of technology discovery, due diligence or early planning on at least two substantial acquisitions, divestments or separations.

• Experience shaping integration, separation, carve out or transitional service plans.

• The ability to bring structure to an unclear or fast moving transaction.

• Broad understanding of applications, data, infrastructure, operating models, cyber security and technology costs.

• Strong workshop leadership and clear senior stakeholder communication.

• Evidence of turning findings into a practical roadmap and mobilisation plan.

• Commercial judgement and the confidence to explain difficult choices plainly.

• The right to work in the UK and the ability to travel to client sites when an assignment requires it.

• The ability to work as an independent associate under an agreed statement of work.
