Technology Research Analyst

About the role

The Technology Research Analyst conducts fundamental research on the technology sector covering sub-segments including semiconductors, artificial intelligence, software & internet, hardware, and communication equipment. The role involves analyzing industry trends, competitive landscape, technological evolution and policy shifts, and producing high-quality research reports and investment insights. This position requires building and maintaining financial models for industries and covered companies, including three-statement models, DCF, comparable valuation, and scenario analysis, while continuously monitoring financial performance and valuation changes of covered entities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth industry and corporate research on the technology sector, analyzing industry trends, competitive landscape, technological evolution and policy shifts
• Build and maintain financial models for industries and covered companies, including three-statement models, DCF, comparable valuation, and scenario analysis
• Continuously monitor financial performance and valuation changes of covered entities
• Provide industry and single-stock research support across internal departments and respond to client inquiries
• Participate in project due diligence and valuation validation
• Deliver support including investment target screening, portfolio recommendations and ongoing monitoring
• Compile written deliverables such as in-depth research reports, company meeting minutes, and industry flash comments
• Participate in internal knowledge-sharing sessions, client roadshows and seminars to articulate investment conclusions and viewpoints
• Establish and maintain sound relationships with management and investor-relations teams of covered companies
• Obtain first-hand information via corporate site visits and meetings

About you

• Full-time bachelor's degree or above
• Majors in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Science and Engineering (Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Automation, etc.) or related fields are preferred
• 2-3 years of equity research experience in the Technology / TMT sector (sell-side or buy-side experience is acceptable)
• Equivalent years of industry experience in technology corporates (corporate strategy, investment, product functions, etc.) will also be considered
• Solid financial-analysis and valuation-modelling capabilities; proficient in Excel for financial modelling
• Familiar with financial data terminals such as Bloomberg and Wind
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese; capable of drafting research reports and conducting professional communications in both languages
• Strong logical reasoning and critical-thinking capabilities
• High self-motivation; capable of working independently and proactively taking ownership of research work
• Detail-oriented with strong sense of responsibility and professional ethics

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of professional certifications such as CFA or CPA
• Hold SFC Type 4 (Advising on Securities) regulated‑activity license in Hong Kong
