Technology Safety Assessor – Protective Group
Melbourne Metro | Full-time | On the road
Protective Group carries out technology and property safety assessments for people referred through family-violence and support services, as well as private clients.
This is a field role. You will be out most days doing the assessments — houses, vehicles and devices — then completing the job in our system.
What you will do
- Attend scheduled assessments across Melbourne metro, elsewhere in Victoria, and interstate as required
- Conduct house, vehicle and device sweeps using company equipment
- Complete property and technology safety assessments in line with our procedures
- Deliver, install and demonstrate personal safety devices to clients
- Record photographs and notes to the required standard and submit completed jobs the same day
- Work in a trauma-informed way with clients and referring agencies — calm, discreet, and respectful of people’s safety, dignity and choices
- Support clients to understand the assessment and any recommended next steps without pressure
- Maintain the company vehicle and equipment, and follow on-site safety requirements at all times
Who this suits
- Organised, reliable and able to complete each job to a consistent standard, including accurate records
- Comfortable attending private residences and working with clients in sensitive circumstances
- Able to work independently in the field, with support available from the office
- Confident using specialist equipment and completing digital job sheets on a phone or tablet
- A clear, professional communicator who can explain the process in plain language
What we need
- Training on our equipment and process is provided
- Hold, or be prepared to obtain, a Victorian Private Security Individual Operator Licence with the relevant activities (including Security Adviser and, where required, Security Equipment Installer)
- Be prepared to obtain any equivalent interstate licences required for work outside Victoria
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Ability to obtain a police check
- Full driver’s licence and a satisfactory driving record
- Full working rights in Australia
What we offer
- Full-time field role based in Melbourne
- Company vehicle supplied
- Structured internal training on our equipment, systems and assessment process
- Access to relevant external training and professional development
- Meaningful work supporting clients referred through family-violence and support services
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Support to obtain and maintain required licences, including internal and external training
