Teltek is hiring a Technology Services & Solutions Engineer —a hybrid role for a Tier 2 MSP technician who wants to grow into a senior engineer, solutions designer, and eventually a vCIO‑level advisor. You’ll split your time between remote IT support , on‑site technical work , and client-facing advisory responsibilities . You’ll work with telecom, networking, wireless, access control, security cameras, servers, cloud systems, and more—while building the skills needed to step into higher-level engineering and strategic client leadership. Teltek, a Frederick Maryland business, is seeking a Technology Services & Solutions Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a Level 2 – Level 3 MSP technician who is ready to take the next step in their career—expanding beyond day‑to‑day support into solution design, client advising, and long-term technical strategy.

This position blends remote IT support , on‑site technical work , and client-facing technical advisory accountabilities . As you and the company grow, you will have the opportunity to take on more advanced responsibilities including Solutions Engineering , Technical Account Management , and eventually vCIO advisory work with full training and support.

Eligible candidates should be reliable, motivated self-starters with exceptional communication skills, strong documentation habits, and the ability to work autonomously while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

- Responsibilities and requirements:

• Business Phone Systems: configuring, deploying, troubleshooting and training (typically MetaSwitch/Netsapians UCaaS VOIP, MS Teams, and legacy premise-based PBX systems)
• Installing, configuring and managing Wide & Local Area Networks (Typically Cisco Meraki, SonicWALL and Ubiquiti):
• Telephone/Internet Service Provider deployments and troubleshooting
• Troubleshooting/installing IP-based security cameras and access control systems
• Active Directory and DNS administration
• Troubleshooting/administration/deployment of Windows/Apple desktop and server operating systems
• Troubleshooting/administration/deployment of Microsoft 365 and other MS applications
• Monitoring and managing data backups and disaster recovery devices
• Assisting sales team with site surveys and solution designs (sales engineering)
• Various cloud technology migrations, administration and support
• Provide onsite and remote end-user/administrative training on various phone systems, Microsoft and cloud-based technologies
• Maintaining clear, thorough documentation of installs, configurations and client environments
• Mentoring technicians as you grow into more senior responsibilities

Details:

• Experience: 5+ years working in an MSP business with physical onsite technology installation experience; Teltek will invest in right candidate
• Work Location: Client Sites Across DMV; Teltek Office: Frederick, MD
• Hours: Monday Through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; occasional after hours/on call
• Environment: Estimated 70% local DMV field work; 30% remote/office support; will vary based on client needs.
• Travel: Some out of state travel will be required with advanced notice
• Security Clearance: Not Required

Requirements

• Exceptional emotional intelligence, customer service, communication and documentation skills
• Valid driver’s license, Clean backgroundand driving record
• Motivated, hardworking and an independent self-starter
• Proficiency in verbal and written English
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs independently
• Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet utilizing a lift and/or ladders
• Some formalized technology training/education/certification(s) or equivalent on the job experience (CompTIA Network+ and A+, Microsoft 365/Azure certifications, CCNA, etc.)
• Ability to demonstrate the ability to support to a wide variety of technologies across various businesses segment
