What You’ll Be Responsible For

Solution Architecture & Design

• Design end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business requirements, technical standards, and long-term objectives.
• Develop architecture diagrams, technical specifications, integration designs, and implementation recommendations.
• Evaluate existing systems and identify opportunities to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Technology Strategy & Integration

• Assess technologies, platforms, frameworks, and infrastructure options to determine their suitability for business needs.
• Design integration approaches across applications, databases, cloud environments, and enterprise systems.
• Support modernisation initiatives, system migrations, and technology transformation projects.
• Establish architectural patterns and reusable approaches that promote consistency across solutions.

Security, Performance & Reliability

• Incorporate security, data protection, access control, and resilience considerations into solution designs.
• Identify architectural risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate performance, availability, scalability, and disaster recovery requirements.
• Support compliance with relevant technical policies and applicable regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with business analysts, software engineers, infrastructure specialists, project managers, and other stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical audiences.
• Facilitate architecture discussions and help teams make informed design decisions.
• Provide technical guidance throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing improvement.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Review proposed technical designs to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
• Document key design decisions, dependencies, risks, and technology recommendations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical complexity and improve operational efficiency.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and assess their potential business applications.

The Expertise You’ll Bring

We're looking for a technically strong professional who can balance architectural quality with practical business needs.

Essential skills and experience:

• Experience in solution architecture, systems architecture, software engineering, or a closely related technical role.
• Strong understanding of enterprise application design, system integration, and architectural principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, infrastructure, networking, databases, and application development environments.
• Knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles, identity and access management, and data protection.
• Ability to analyse complex requirements and develop clear, workable technical solutions.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Experience with platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud would be beneficial. Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containers, microservices, and enterprise architecture frameworks would also be advantageous, depending on the organisation's technology environment.

A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline would be desirable. Relevant professional certifications may also strengthen an application.
