Technology Specialist

What the role entails

(Key Responsibilities)

• Perform Simulation and Testbed experiments for research and development in various high capacity transport technologies ex. 100G, 200G, 400G and 800G,
• Perform differential techno-economic analysis using various optical fiber types for long-haul and metro networks
• Perform or coordinate signal transmission experiments and Competitors bench-marking over Sterlite fibers for external customer and emulation of customer pain/ challenges in lab/field demo
• Conduct advance research on beyond state of the art targeting leading conferences/workshops/ Exhibitions/Trade shows
• Perform the high capacity network planning, optimization, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for LH/Metro/Access network systems
• Design experiments considering field operational issues and reliability and perform detailed measurement data analysis
• Perform tests and characterization measurements of fiber, high speed devices, components and sub-systems
• Will work on a number of projects simultaneously requiring considerable experience and adaptability in order to meet schedule and performance demands.

What we are looking for in you

(Skills, Knowledge, Special Attributes, Mobility)

• 2+ years of experience in telecommunication engineering
• Good understanding of optical networking, optical fiber link design and fiber related transmission system challenges
• Modeling/Simulation experience of long-haul and metro optical transport system incorporating DWDM technology and Advanced modulation forms
• Extensive experience in lab measurement of high-speed devices. (2.5/10/40/100/400 Gb/s), characterization/packaging for photonic sub-system module and development of optical transmitters /receivers
• Working experience on optical communication system testing software: VPI transmission maker/ R-soft-optsim
• Knowledge of coherent & incoherent detection and photonic devices
• Hand on experience with RF and optical network components testing, characterization/packaging for photonic sub-system module development
• Good analytical skills, and experience with lab based experiments and optimization of optical transmission system and statistical analysis of measurement results.
• Knowledge of optic communication systems, Sub-system optimization, and data acquisition using SMF and MMF fiber optic technologies Proficient with programming using MS EXCEL, LABIEW, MATLAB, and C/C++.

B.S/M.S./ PHD in Physics/Telecommunication Engineering/Opto-electronics/Optical communication/Fiber Optics
