TEKLA Structural Engineer

Help ensure structural steel designs are ready for fabrication and construction

Building a high-performing structural-steel engineering team requires engineers who understand constructability, technical quality, and how to translate design intent into fabrication-ready deliverables.

At CREADIS, we are building a new TEKLA engineering team in Chennai and are looking for TEKLA Structural Engineers to contribute to structural-steel modelling, detailing, and technical quality assurance.

Whether your background is within 3D modelling, structural-steel detailing, drawing verification, or model checking, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering documentation for complex structural-steel projects. We are building a team across multiple experience levels and welcome applications from both developing and experienced TEKLA professionals.

You will work closely with engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to transform design intent into fabrication-ready models and drawings that support efficient manufacturing and construction.

Build and verify structural steel deliverables

Your responsibilities may include:

• Creating accurate 3D structural-steel models using TEKLA Structures
• Developing General Arrangement drawings, assembly drawings, shop drawings, erection drawings, marking plans, and part drawings
• Modelling structural members, plates, bolts, welds, and connection details
• Reviewing TEKLA models and drawings for technical accuracy, completeness, constructability, and fabrication readiness
• Interpreting structural-design drawings, engineering specifications, and project requirements
• Identifying missing, conflicting, or unclear technical information and raising technical queries
• Coordinating technical clarifications with engineers, customers, and project stakeholders
• Updating models and drawings based on design revisions and review feedback
• Maintaining drawing revisions, model integrity, and project documentation
• Preparing and validating material take-offs, bolt summaries, and related project reports
• Contributing to engineering quality, documentation standards, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced modellers and detailers where relevant

What you bring

We imagine that you have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Production Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum two years of hands-on experience with TEKLA Structures
• Experience within structural-steel detailing, modelling, or model checking
• Knowledge of steel fabrication and erection processes
• Understanding of connection detailing, welding symbols, bolt detailing, and erection requirements
• The ability to interpret structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
• A structured and quality-focused approach to engineering work
• Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
• Good communication skills in English
• The ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and project teams

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Checking TEKLA models and fabrication drawings
• Welded steel structures and complex connection detailing
• Industrial buildings, portal frames, or similar steel structures
• Eurocodes or European structural-steel standards and practices
• International engineering projects and global customer collaboration
