Working in the Telco Cloud team
The Telco Cloud platform is the foundation that runs Telenet's network and 5G services for millions of customers. As an Operations Engineer in our Telco Cloud team, you help keep that foundation stable, fast and secure. And you make it easier for other teams to build on it.
You will work in a close-knit squad that supports several tribes and teams, each with their own needs and timelines. Together you use automation, monitoring, capacity planning and performance engineering to prevent problems before customers notice them. Along the way you will contribute to our 5G core platform setup and help shape how we use AI for operations.
This is a role built for growth. You will have a senior buddy from day one, time to learn, and room to take on more ownership as your confidence grows.
Your role as Telco Cloud Operations Engineer
- Keep our virtualization and Kubernetes platforms healthy by monitoring, automating and continuously improving them for reliability and scalability.
- Help build our AIOps capabilities by using data from our NSO data lake and monitoring tools to detect anomalies, correlate alerts and anticipate capacity needs.
- Support application teams in adopting telco cloud services and act as a trusted point of contact for technical guidance.
- Build, maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines while ensuring safe and efficient deployment of standard changes.
- Use AI tools in your daily work to develop scripts, automate tasks, create documentation and improve incident analysis.
- Investigate and resolve L2/L3 incidents with your squad, identify root causes and help prevent recurring issues.
- Contribute to platform designs, roadmaps and best practices while taking part in agile ceremonies and the shared on-call rotation.
Your profile as Telco Cloud Operations Engineer
- You have between 1 and 4 years of hands-on experience with Linux and virtualization, containers or Kubernetes through work, internships or personal projects.
- You have experience with scripting or coding, preferably in Python.
- You are comfortable working with YAML and Git.
- You have a basic understanding of networking concepts such as routing, DNS and load balancing.
- You communicate clearly and effectively in English.
- Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
- You are eager to learn new technologies and continuously expand your cloud, automation and platform engineering skills.
You are willing to be part of a shared on-call rotation .
