Telecom/Data Center Operations Technician

About the role

Telecom / Data Center Operations Technician responsible for ensuring the stable operation of equipment and systems within communication rooms and data centers on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Work on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule according to the assigned duty roster to ensure the stable operation of equipment and systems within the communication room/data center
• Monitor the operating status of servers, network equipment, storage systems, power systems, and other critical infrastructure in real time, and promptly identify and address any abnormalities
• Respond quickly to various system alarms, equipment faults, and operational issues, ensuring that problems are resolved promptly and minimizing any impact on business continuity
• Maintain detailed records of fault-handling activities, prepare fault/incident reports, and regularly analyze common faults, root causes, and corrective solutions
• Conduct regular site inspections and preventive maintenance checks of equipment and facilities, ensuring that hardware and supporting systems are operating normally and properly documenting inspection results
• Maintain and update technical documentation, including operation manuals, emergency response procedures, equipment configuration documents, maintenance records, and inspection reports
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the communication room, including proper classification, arrangement, and storage of materials and equipment within the assigned site area

About you

• At least a College Diploma / Associate Degree or equivalent
• At least 1-3 years' work experience in telecommunication rooms, data centers, telecom transmission, or equipment operation and maintenance preferred
• At least one of the following professional qualifications, certifications, or technical skills: Philippine Registered Electrical Engineer (REE), High-Voltage (HV) or Low-Voltage (LV) Electrical Certification, Fire Safety / Fire Safety Officer Certification, Air-Conditioning / HVAC Maintenance Skills or Certification, or Generator Operation & Maintenance Experience or Certification
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Able to work under a 24/7 rotating shift schedule
• Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to respond promptly to equipment alarms and emergencies
• Good documentation and reporting skills
• Must have a personal laptop and willing to use for work
