Telugu Content Specialist

About us:

LeapForWord is a product NGO committed to eliminating the single biggest bottleneck of Poor English Capabilities, which prohibits students of regional language communities from accessing Professional Education & better Employment Opportunities. Using our translation algorithm, we enable lakhs of teachers to teach English in their mother tongue and develop specific capabilities in their students, namely Reading, Comprehension & Sentence Structuring.

Key Responsibilities

1. Telugu Content Proofreading· Thoroughly proofread all existing Telugu content, including books, workbooks, practice sheets, quizzes, educational materials, communication messages, video scripts, content videos and other learning resources.· Identify and mark spelling, grammatical, punctuation, sentence construction and word usage errors, along with any inconsistencies in language or terminology.· Ensure that the content is linguistically accurate, clear, consistent and easy to understand, while retaining its original meaning and learning objectives.

2. Error Documentation and Repository Management· Document all identified errors along with their location, suggested corrections and explanations wherever necessary.· Create and maintain a systematic repository of errors, categorising them by type to identify common and recurring mistakes.· Develop and regularly update a proofreading checklist to help the team avoid repeating errors and maintain consistent content quality.

3. Correction Tracking and Quality Assurance· Share identified errors and suggested corrections with the concerned team members and track their resolution.· Review corrected content to ensure that the necessary changes have been implemented accurately.· Maintain a record of content reviewed, corrections completed and pending items to ensure thorough coverage of all assigned materials.

Skills Required

Language and Proofreading Skills

• Excellent command over written Telugu, including grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence construction.
• Strong proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to identify language errors and inconsistencies while retaining the intended meaning.
• Proficiency in English; basic Hindi knowledge will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to maintain error repositories, proofreading checklists and review trackers.

Soft Skills

• Patience and accuracy while reviewing large volumes of content.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and coordinate with team members.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Prior experience in Telugu proofreading, editing or language quality assurance.
• Experience reviewing educational content, textbooks, workbooks or assessments.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telugu.
• Familiarity with digital learning resources and educational videos will be an added advantage.

Pay: From ₹35,000.00 per month
