Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish
• Operate the cash register accurately, handling retail sales transactions, cash handling, and cash drawer management with precision
• Conduct product demos to showcase features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities to maximize sales potential
• Maintain stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise, and supporting merchandising initiatives to keep the store inviting and well-presented
• Provide knowledgeable assistance on store products, including retail store product knowledge and grocery store experience if applicable
• Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or directing calls efficiently
• Support the team by supervising new or less experienced associates when needed, fostering a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in grocery or specialty stores with POS (Point of Sale) systems familiarity
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership and team support skills
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions involving discounts, returns, or stock calculations
• Strong communication skills with an energetic and friendly demeanor
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
• Experience with cashiering, cash register operations, and cash handling procedures required
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and retail store product knowledge essential for engaging customers effectively
• Basic math skills necessary for retail math calculations and cash drawer handling
• Familiarity with upselling techniques and customer service best practices to enhance sales performance
• Grocery store experience or familiarity with POS systems will be advantageous
