Duties

• Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability
• Support medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
• Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents with mobility challenges
• Engage residents through meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being, including Alzheimer's and dementia care
• Follow resident’s rights policies to ensure dignity, privacy, and personalized care are upheld at all times
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks such as cleaning common areas and resident rooms
• Drive residents when necessary using standard passenger cars for appointments or community outings
• Implement behavior management techniques tailored to individual needs to foster positive interactions and reduce agitation or distress
• Support residents during meal preparation, feeding assistance, and ensuring nutritional needs are met

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care strategies, and behavioral management techniques
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and effectively; experience with Hoyer lifts is a plus
• Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training encouraged to stay current
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license for safe driving responsibilities; experience operating standard passenger vehicles required
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects and assist residents with mobility needs consistently
• Familiarity with resident’s rights policies and long-term care standards ensures respectful treatment of all individuals
