TEMPORARY EXECUTIVE PROJECT MANAGER
Operations & Regulatory Compliance Urban Flavors Gourmet (UFG) & Moonshine Deli & BBQ (MSDBBQ)
Location: Oakland / San Francisco Bay AreaCoverage: Alameda County San Francisco Contra Costa CountyJob Type: Temporary / Project-BasedFuture Opportunity: Potential additional contract or ongoing engagement — TBD
POSITION SUMMARY
UFG–MSDBBQ / Bay Area Diverse Foods, LLC is seeking an accomplished Executive Project Manager to lead a temporary, multi-jurisdictional regulatory and operational-compliance project.
This is primarily an executive project-management position. A food-service background is NOT required or paramount.
We need a seasoned project leader capable of taking a complex initiative involving multiple government agencies, regulatory requirements, stakeholders, consultants, vendors, deadlines, inspections, and documentation—and driving the entire project through completion.
The primary objective is to organize and manage the process required to bring UFG–MSDBBQ’s mobile-vending and related operations into compliance with applicable requirements in Alameda County, Oakland, San Francisco, and Contra Costa County.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the executive-level Project Manager for the company’s regulatory-compliance initiative.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive project plan with milestones, deadlines, dependencies, and responsible parties.
- Identify applicable city, county, and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, regulators, inspectors, consultants, and subject-matter experts.
- Coordinate permit applications, documentation, plan reviews, inspections, corrective actions, and final approvals.
- Manage multiple regulatory workstreams simultaneously.
- Identify project obstacles and aggressively drive issues toward resolution.
- Develop an executive project dashboard, compliance matrix, risk register, and accountability system.
- Provide regular status reports and recommendations to company leadership.
- Coordinate internal personnel, contractors, vendors, consultants, and government representatives.
- Establish an organized digital and physical compliance-management system.
- Complete a comprehensive project closeout and transition package.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate is a senior project/program management professional with demonstrated experience managing complicated, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Executive Project or Program Management
- Government/Public-Sector Projects
- Regulatory Compliance
- Corporate Operations
- Government Contracting
- Construction/Development
- Facilities or Infrastructure
- Transportation/Logistics
- Healthcare Administration
- Manufacturing
- Security Operations
- Risk Management
- Licensing and Permitting
Food-service experience is helpful but not required.
We are more interested in an executive who knows how to identify the right agency or subject-matter expert, determine requirements, establish accountability, manage timelines, overcome obstacles, and get projects across the finish line.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Significant project/program management experience.
- Demonstrated success leading complex projects from initiation through completion.
- Strong executive presence, communication, organization, and follow-through.
- Experience coordinating governmental, regulatory, corporate, or institutional stakeholders.
- Ability to transform ambiguous requirements into structured project plans.
- Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, problem-solving, and accountability skills.
- Experience with project schedules, executive dashboards, risk registers, and status reporting.
- Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
TEMPORARY PROJECT ASSIGNMENT
This is a temporary, project-based position—not a guaranteed permanent position.
The engagement is designed around completing specific regulatory, permitting, compliance, and operational-readiness objectives.
The assignment will conclude upon substantial completion and handoff of the agreed-upon project scope and deliverables.
If the engagement is successful and both parties determine that a continuing relationship would be beneficial, UFG–MSDBBQ may consider an additional consulting, contract, project-management, or operational leadership arrangement.
Any future engagement is TBD and would be separately negotiated.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
Success means UFG–MSDBBQ has:
A clear regulatory roadmap → Completed priority applications and approvals → Resolved compliance issues → Organized documentation → Defined ongoing requirements → A sustainable compliance-management system.
We are looking for an executive project manager who approaches complex assignments with one overriding question:
“What needs to happen to get this across the finish line?”
