We are seeking an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team during the busy festive period. You will support the Head Chef and kitchen team with food preparation, plating food, and kitchen cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, ensuring ingredients are ready and properly stored
• Support the kitchen team in maintaining cleanliness and organization of workstations
• Follow food safety standards and hygiene protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment
• Help with basic cooking tasks under supervision, including assembling dishes and portioning ingredients
• Support with plating of garnish
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by working collaboratively and efficiently during busy shifts

Requirements

• Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred but not mandatory
• Knowledge of food preparation, meal assembly, and kitchen safety practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and hygiene procedures
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with team members and serving staff
• Flexibility to work various shifts during the peak season

As this is supporting during the festive season, you will be required to work weekends, Christmas Day and Hogmanay

Salary will depend on experience

Whilst this is a temporary role, there may be an opportunity to remain on a part time contract after January

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 30.0 per week
