Temporary | Conflicts Analyst

Lawyers on Demand, a Consilio company is actively recruiting for a temporary Conflicts Analyst to support a leading global law firm .

This position requires at least 2 days onsite at our clients' site. This is a 3 - 4 month contract assignment covering for a leave of absence.

Position Summary

The Conflicts Analyst position is responsible for helping the firm avoid legal and ethical issues when opening new clients and matters. The analyst will review potential conflicts of interest, confirm that required agreements are completed, and establish confidentiality restrictions when sensitive information must be protected.

Key Responsibilities

• Track new client and matter requests that are waiting for signed engagement letters or conflict-of-interest waivers.
• Follow up with attorneys and other team members to obtain missing documents or information.
• Review conflict reports to identify relationships that could prevent the firm from representing a client.
• Research companies, individuals, and related organizations involved in potential conflicts.
• Create and maintain ethical walls that restrict access to sensitive client or matter information.
• Draft and update warnings and alerts within the firm’s conflicts database.
• Review requests to change client or matter names and determine whether the changes create new conflicts.
• Work directly with partners, attorneys, and staff to investigate and resolve potential concerns.
• Explain complicated conflicts and compliance requirements in clear, practical terms.
• Research legal ethics rules, professional responsibility requirements, and relevant case law.
• Assist with conflicts analysis for new clients, new matters, and attorney departures.
• Train attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and other employees on conflicts and business-intake procedures.
• Help test new technology and participate in department projects.
• Handle additional risk and compliance responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience in a law firm, legal department, conflicts team, or similar legal environment.
• Experience researching companies, corporate relationships, or legal issues.
• General understanding of how a corporate law firm operates.
• Knowledge of attorney ethics and conflict-of-interest rules, including the American Bar Association Model Rules of Professional Conduct.
• Experience with conflicts reviews and complete conflicts resolution is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal systems such as Intapp Open, Contract Express, and iManage.
• Bachelor’s degree, JD, paralegal certificate, or prior paralegal experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work additional or weekend hours when business needs require it.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
