Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Receive and process customer deposits, withdrawals and other authorised transactions.
• Count, verify and properly handle cash received from or paid to customers.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and supporting documentation.
• Balance assigned cash and transaction records at the end of each working day.
• Identify and promptly report cash shortages, overages, transaction errors or other exceptions.
• Comply with approved transaction limits and required authorisations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and transaction information.
• Protect passwords, system access credentials and assigned Teller access.
• Identify and appropriately escalate suspected counterfeit or suspicious cash.
• Provide courteous and efficient service to customers.
• Participate in daily reconciliation and other operational-control activities.
• Perform other Teller/Operations duties reasonably assigned by Management.

Requirements:

• HND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Finance, or another closely related discipline.
• Previous experience as a teller, cashier, accounts assistant, or in a cash-handling/customer transaction role will be an advantage.
• Basic understanding of cash handling, accounting, or banking transactions.
• Good numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure.
• High level of honesty, integrity and accountability.
• Fresh OND graduates with suitable numerical and customer-service capability may also apply
• Be a resident in Kaduna or able to work in Kaduna without relocation difficulty;
• Understand that the position is temporary/fixed-term; and
• Be available to resume within a reasonably short period if selected.
