Temporary Works Coordinator

Acrow Engineering & Construction is a leading provider of smart, integrated construction systems and industrial access solutions across Australia.

Due to continued growth on Project Ceres - Perdaman in Karratha, WA, we are seeking an experienced and committed Temporary Work Coordinator to join our project team and support the safe delivery of our scaffolding and access operations.

Reporting to the Senior Superintendent, you will be responsible for supporting the site team, developing temporary works engineering specifications, ensuring risk and safety is managed correctly, carrying out inspections and authorisations for temporary works and assessing project scope.

This is a site-based position working a 20:8 roster or residential for individuals living in Karratha or the surrounding region.

About the Role

As a Temporary Work Coordinator, you will work closely with our client SCJV, superintendents, site leadership, supervisors and stakeholders to understand temporary works requirements.

You will provide hands on support across site activities which will include the following:

• Assess project work scopes and define/classify temporary works

• Develop temporary works engineering specifications

• Review and develop risk-based work method statements

• Coordinate review of temporary works and falsework design, ensuring specification is written with enough detail

• Conduct site inspections and audits to monitor temporary works implementation and compliance with safety standards

• Provide guidance and support to SCJV regarding temporary works procedures and best practices

• Inspection and authorisation of temporary works upon dismantle and removal, as well as installation and use

• Ensure temporary work records are maintained

• Coordinate supply, erection, maintenance and dismantling of works

• Work across any required change management

• Preparation and submission of work packs and SOWS

• Work with stakeholders across all varied departments

• Identification of hold points

To be successful, you will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in either Structural Engineering
• 7+ years' experience, ideally within the management of temporary works
• Understanding/knowledge of BS5975, code of practice for temporary works procedures and ABCB Temporary Structures Standard
• Construction experience working within a Greenfields environment highly regarded
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• A proactive, practical and collaborative approach to safety
• Full working rights in Australia
