What they need
We are seeking an experienced Temp Tenancy Manager for an immediate start, six-week assignment with a charitable trust providing disability support services to children, young people, adults, and their whānau.
Working within a small, collaborative team, you will support the General Manager in overseeing specialised disability and social housing tenancies and properties across Auckland. This is a key role in ensuring tenants are appropriately housed, tenancies are well managed, and properties are safe, compliant, and well maintained.
If you are highly organised, relationship-focused, and passionate about supporting people and communities, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage allocated specialised disability and social housing tenancies, supporting successful placements, tenancy sustainment, and positive tenant experiences.
- Coordinate property inspections, repairs, maintenance, and contractor services to ensure properties are safe, well maintained, and fit for purpose.
- Ensure tenancy and property management activities meet the requirements of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986, relevant legislation, and organisational policies and procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with tenants, property owners, contractors, government agencies, and internal teams, addressing queries and resolving issues professionally.
- Maintain accurate tenancy and property records, manage tenancy documentation, process maintenance requests and purchase orders, and provide timely reporting.
- Monitor rental arrears and tenant-related costs, support invoicing and debt recovery, and ensure maintenance expenditure follows delegated financial authorities.
- Support property compliance, complete required inspections, and ensure contractors follow health, safety, and wellbeing requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- 2–3 years’ experience in tenancy management, property management, or a similar role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to navigate difficult conversations with tact and diplomacy.
- Experience coordinating maintenance work, managing contractors, and monitoring costs.
- Strong written, numerical, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management systems.
- A collaborative, solutions-focused approach and a genuine passion for people, social enterprise, and community wellbeing.
- A full, current New Zealand Class 1 driver licence.
- Experience with the BOS system or a similar property management platform would be an advantage.
This is a great opportunity to step into a varied, hands-on role where your tenancy and property management expertise will help ensure people have safe, suitable homes and receive the support they need to sustain their tenancies.
If you are an experienced Tenancy Manager who can hit the ground running and make a positive impact, we would love to hear from you.
