Tender/Diver

Job Summary
At Emerald City Diving in Seattle, we are looking for a commercial SCUBA diver to join our team. You will be working closely with the company owner. Your main responsibilities include topside support, conducting dives for tasks such as inspections, changing anodes, propeller removal & installation, hull cleaning, recovery and boat salvage. Your work will involve working on the dock and in the water inspecting and servicing yachts while using dive gear. You may also need to use pneumatic and hand tools such as impact wrenches, hammers, drills, and other equipment.

Requirements

Valid drivers license.

Valid certification as a SCUBA diver.

Comfortable working underwater.

Duties

• Conduct underwater inspections, repairs, and maintenance on structures and equipment.
• Perform underwater welding, cutting, or other specialized tasks as required by project specifications.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices while diving.
• Maintain diving equipment and perform regular checks to ensure functionality and safety.
• Document dive activities, including conditions, observations, and any issues encountered during dives.
• Collaborate with team members to plan dives and execute tasks efficiently.
• Respond to emergencies or unexpected situations promptly while maintaining composure.

Experience

• Certification from an accredited diving school (e.g., PADI, NAUI) is required; advanced certifications are a plus.
• Previous experience in commercial diving or related fields is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level positions.
• Knowledge of underwater tools and equipment is beneficial.
• Strong physical fitness and the ability to work in challenging underwater environments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
